사람 머리카락으로 만든 고대 이집트 가발

고대 역사 한 조각이다.

고대 이집트 신왕국 제18왕조(기원전 1550-1292년) 시대 것으로 추정되는, 인모로 제작한 이집트 가발이다.

이 놀라운 유물은 룩소르에 있는 남편 카Kha와 함께 묻힌 이집트 여성 메리트Merit 무덤에서 발굴되었다.

이 가발은 독특한 이중 스타일을 자랑하는데, 위쪽에는 촘촘하게 말린 곱슬머리가, 아래쪽에는 수백 개 섬세한 땋은 머리가 폭포처럼 흘러내린다.

밀랍과 수지로 제작한 이 가발은 당시의 아름다움뿐만 아니라 그것을 보존하기 위한 뛰어난 기술력까지 보여준다.

특별히 제작된 아카시아 나무 상자에 보관된 이 가발은 3,000년이 넘는 세월을 놀랍도록 잘 보존해 과거를 엿보게 한다.

고대 이집트 패션의 우아함을 경험하는 기회라 할 만하다. 

 

Unveiling a piece of ancient history, we present a stunning Egyptian wig crafted from human hair, dating back to the New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty (1550-1292 BC). This remarkable find was uncovered in the tomb of Merit, an Egyptian woman resting alongside her husband Kha in Luxor. 


The wig showcases a unique duplex style, featuring tightly coiled curls on top and hundreds of delicate braids cascading below. Crafted with beeswax and resin, this hairstyle not only reveals the beauty of its time but also the ingenuity behind its preservation. 


Housed in a specially designed acacia wood box, this wig has remarkably survived for over 3,000 years, allowing us a glimpse into the past. Discover the elegance of ancient Egyptian fashion!
