메난드로스도 피하지 못한 베수비오

 

fresco from the House of Menander in Pompeii, Italy. The House of Menander was one of the most luxurious and grandest houses in ancient Pompeii, with an area of about 1,800 square meters. The house is named after a fresco of a Greek poet named Menander that was found there. The house belonged to Quintus Poppaeus, one of the Poppaeus family who were most likely the family of Nero's second wife, Poppaea Sabina.

메난드로스 집은 고대 폼페이에서 가장 호사스럽고 웅장한 저택 중 하나로, 면적이 약 1,800제곱미터에 달했다.

이 저택 이름은 그곳에서 발견된 그리스 시인 메난드로스 프레스코화에서 유래한다.

이 저택은 네로의 두 번째 아내인 포파이아 사비나 가문으로 추정되는 포파이우스 가문 구성원 중 한 명인 퀸투스 포파이우스의 소유였다.
