화산재가 보존한 로마 목제 가구

 
Roman carbonised wooden furniture from Herculaneum, which was buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 CE. Among them a cradle discovered with the remains of a small baby wrapped in blankets still inside it, a stool, a table and a little night stand 

서기 79년 베수비오 화산 폭발에 묻힌 고대 로마도시 헤르쿨라네움Herculaneum에서 발견된 로마 시대 목제 가구들이다.

개중에는 담요에 싸인 어린 아기 유해가 그대로 남은 요람이 있어 안타까움을 더하며

기타 의자, 탁자, 그리고 작은 침대 옆 탁자가 발견되었다.
