하폴 보물 Harpole Treasure

 

In 2022 archaeologists uncovered an “astonishing” 1,300-year-old necklace in Northamptonshire, England, during an excavation for a housing development. 

2022년, 고고학자들은 영국 노샘프턴셔에서 주택 개발 공사를 위한 발굴 작업 중 놀라운 1,300년 된 목걸이를 발견했다.

이 목걸이는 영국에서 발견된 유사 목걸이 중 가장 귀중한 것으로 로마 동전, 금, 가넷, 유리, 준보석으로 만들어진 30개 펜던트와 구슬로 이루어져 있다.

이 목걸이는 고위층 여성 무덤에서 발견되었으며 현재도 조사 중인 다른 흥미로운 유물들도 포함되어 있다.

이 유물들은 발견된 지역 교구 이름을 따 '하폴 보물(Harpole Treasure)'이라는 이름이 붙었다.

앵글로색슨족이 산 이 유적은 서기 630년에서 670년 사이로 추정된다.

The necklace is the richest of its type ever found in Britain – with a incredible 30 pendants and beads made of Roman coins, gold, garnets, glass and semi-precious stones. It was found in a high-status female burial containing other intriguing items that are still being investigated. The collection has been dubbed the ‘Harpole Treasure’ based on the name of the local parish where it was discovered. The Anglo-Saxon site dates to between 630 and 670 AD.
