19세기 나무, 상어 이빨, 식물 섬유로 만든 무기로, 전투에 사용했으며 상징적인 의미 때문에 높은 가치를 지녔다.

상어 이빨은 나무 칼날에 조심스럽게 묶거나 박아 넣어 날카로운 톱니 모양 날을 만들어 상처를 내는는 데 사용했다.

이 무기는 키리바티 사람들이 환경에 대한 뛰어난 이해력과 효과적인 장인 정신, 그리고 상어의 문화적, 정신적 힘을 결합한 모습을 보여준다.

사람들은 이 무기가 상어의 힘과 사나움을 사용자에게 옮겨준다고 믿었으며, 실용적인 용도를 넘어 영적인 차원을 부여한다고 여겼다.

Shark-tooth daggers from Kiribati are a 19th-century weaponry made from wood, shark teeth, and plant fibers, used in combat and valued for their symbolic significance. 

 
The teeth were carefully lashed or embedded into a wooden blade to create a sharp, serrated edge for inflicting wounds. 
These weapons reflect the Kiribati people's mastery of their environment, blending effective craftsmanship with the cultural and spiritual power of the shark.  

The weapons were believed to transfer the shark's power and ferocity to the wielder, imbuing them with a spiritual dimension beyond their practical use.  

The daggers are a testament to the Kiribati islanders' ingenuity and their deep connection to the sea and its resources.
