트림 캐슬, 노르만의 아일랜드 침략 기지

 
아일랜드 미스 카운티 County Meath에 위치하는 트림 성Trim Castle은 12세기 후반, 1172년에서 1173년 무렵 휴 드 레이시(Hugh de Lacy)가 건설하고, 이후 그의 아들 월터 드 레이시(Walter de Lacy)가 확장했다.

아일랜드에서 가장 큰 노르만 성Norman castle으로, 동심원 형태 성벽과 방어용 탑이 있는 거대한 석조 성채를 자랑한다.

주변 지역을 통제하기 위해 보인 강River Boyne을 따라 전략적으로 건설된 이 성은 노르만인의 아일랜드 침략과 통치에 중요한 역할을 했다.

잘 보존된 이 성은 중세 군사 건축과 봉건 권력의 단면을 보여준다.


(저 상태는 발굴과 현재 남은 흔적을 통한 복원도이며 현지에는 뼈다귀밖에 남아있지 않다. 풍광은 좋다!) 
 
Trim Castle, located in County Meath, Ireland, was constructed in the late 12th century, around 1172–1173, by Hugh de Lacy and later expanded by his son Walter de Lacy.

It is the largest Norman castle in Ireland and features a massive stone keep with concentric walls and defensive towers.

The castle was strategically built along the River Boyne to control the surrounding territory and played a key role in the Norman invasion and administration of Ireland.

Its well-preserved structure offers insight into medieval military architecture and feudal power.
